Make sure your bike is in good working order. Be sure to check brakes,
tires, etc. before you go on this trip. Most of all, be sure YOU are in
good working order for this trip. If you haven't been riding, get out
and start conditioning on those bikes. We want you to take advantage of
the numerous trails and riding opportunities at the Breaks, but you need
to be in shape to do it. So get on those bikes and ride!
If you need a good trail to practice on, I would recommend the biking
trail at the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano. It is located
on the north side of Parker between Marsh and Midway. The trailhead
is located southwest of the playground. Just ride on the paved
trail to the left of the playground until you come to the trailhead
sign. The trail is about 2 miles long and will be the equivalent
of the upper level beginner to intermediate level trails at the
Breaks. This will be a good one to practice on before the camp
out.
